I am an INFJ, although in the past, I have taken the test and have come out as INFP.  I think I must be close to the line and maybe more like an INFJ/P.  I took the Myers Briggs personality test for the first time when I was 17 and that was almost 20 years ago.   I was a definite INFP then.  I guess I identify with the submarine more than the nautilus at this point in my life.  Interesting to see the poll results.  Makes me wonder how many here would identify themselves as a Highly Sensitive Person.  Maybe I should start a new thread for that...

Speaking as an INTJ here, I would not be surprised if this type was loaded with assholes. I can see the dark side possibilities--detachment, arrogance, masterminding abstractly--in positions of power.

Hmmm.  Like Cheney, perhaps?

ENTJ - is an aircraft carrier - they might be in the running
ESTJ is  a Patrol Boat - also could be in the running
Of course not ALL ENTJ's and ESTJ's  would be the "unpleasant" type of personality
Each area is on a continuum
For example : It is not Exrtrovert - Introvert  - it is where you fall on that line
Same with each component
Sensory - Intuitive
Feeling - Thinking
Judging - Perceptive

For example, I am an INFP  - strong I, N and P - but on the F/T line - I'm closer to the middle - which means I  am more tempered with  traits of the T personality than someone who has a stong F score

Why I chose the two above
ENTJ - They like power - examples are : Patton, Margaret Thatcher, Napoleon - they are "take-charge people" - dominant, driven  and organized - can be very confrontational
ESTJ - They like to make sure that things get done right - they make sure everybody follows the rules - they do not see that there can be exceptions to the rules.
Examples are : Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck and John Wayne

Above the ENTJ's do go outside of the rules

But rememberes both of those can be very tempered by "where" they fall on the continuum of each component

INTJ - 56 - 62 - 1 - 22

given the supposed very low % of this type in the population and the large amount on this site - i take it the odds are that most of us were pre-destined to arrive here ? christ...

i'm off to get a plate of mash and a fork..... Grin

yes with any of these tests on personality it is interesting the obvious skewing of latoc members compared to society as a whole..

to be expected really as latoc is a filter.....

the % in each area are useful as they give a dominant personality response....

btw wordy..... i bought your book ages ago and its F.A.B.

INTP
Introverted       Intuitive     Thinking   Perceiving

78                   25           38            11

Wow- this thread explains a lot for me. I'm actually pleased that I got this result, although some things in the various breakdowns/descriptions of this type are dead on like this:

Quote
Authority derived from office, credential, or celebrity does not impress them. Architects are interested only in what make sense, and thus only statements that are consistent and coherent carry any weight with them.

... and some from other interpretations are flattering, but seem just a tad ego-maniacal, even for me  Grin:

Quote
INTP  Introverted Thinking with Intuiting
            SUBMERSIBLE
Their theme is Designer/Theorizer/Architect. Sometimes labeled as The Thinker. They thrive on exploring new and exciting possibilities, and are involved in a constant search for understanding. Their goal is to grasp the underlying principle, and to bring clarity to a subject. They like to search for the perfect solution to a problem. They are usually very independent and brilliant. They value knowledge above all else. Their focus of attention is on what is possible, not on what is. Their driving force is to understand whatever has caught their attention of the moment.  They love to question. Their motto is, “To go where no man has gone before.”

Albert Einstein is one example.  Other examples given in the Personality style literature that fit this category would be Bob Newhart, Stephen Hawking, Richard Feynman, and Carl Sagan.

I'm looking forward to going back through this thread to find out what my favorite LATOC'ers are.

Same results I got years ago... I'd love to teach, but just can't bring myself to stand up in front of a group of people.
I'm going to have to read up more on the Healer and see what I can do with my Reiki. Wink
