Leonidas had a point. Who'd want to be king anyway?

LOL!  One of the many reasons you're one of my favorite folks on here, Grower...sharp as a tack!  Wink

Leonidas is said to have been taunted by his alleged twin brother, Cleombrutus, with the words:  “Except for being king, you are not at all superior to us.”  To which Leonidas replied: “But were I not better than you, I should not be king.”

I have always known, sometimes finding out in painful ways, that pissing off the Greeks is a somewhat dangerous venture... Cool

If only Americans had that much fighting spirit--and the political smarts to go with it.

With the power and skill of my ancestors!   Cheesy

Seriously, though, here goes:

1)  Typed English quote into Babelfish translator; 2) Converted English to Greek; 3) Copied then pasted into the text area of my post.

When i read our comments on media about riots, typical is "oh, what an idiots, they have to pay for that later, riots won't make anything better but worse" and ofcourse "communist morons" it makes me sick, what a good sheeple we are, take and swallow all the shit fed to us because standing up would make things worse.

I feel sorry for Creek people suffering because of corrupt bureaucracy and because of ... being creek: per capita their debt isn't bigger than per german or british but that differs small and big - one can get cheap loan trillions and trillions, other is made martyr for much less.  Lips Sealed

What's going to happen is, very soon, we're going to run out of petroleum, and everything depends on petroleum. And there go the school buses. There go the fire engines. The food trucks will come to a halt. This is the end of the world.

using google translate you get..
"If you understand what was honorable life, to avoid after what belongs to others.
For me, it is better to die for Greece than to be monarch of the people of my race! "
- Leonidas
