Gardeners, it's that time of year when we shake of the bitter cold of winter with thoughts of the rebirth of spring and our beautiful gardens!
I'll sticky this thread for awhile and if you want to, post what seeds you have to swap in here and anyone that would like to have some can PM you and give you the address to send them to. That keeps it private.
I'm going to drag the seed container out and see what's what this evening.
I know I have 2 or 3 folks already promised some seeds and will be mailing them out post haste.

this is a lot of fun for everyone and helps keep some of the wonderful old varieties out there and growing.
Monsatano beware, it's the third annual LATOC seed swap extravaganza!!!

I have lots of sunberry and ground cherry seeds, I will trade for almost anything that will grow food,
or I will just send some to you if you have nothing to trade.

Sending to the states did not end well last time.

I have Dakota Squash (C. maxima), and Moon and stars watermelon. I am interested in peas, beans, unusual grains, and potatoes. I also have a small cantalope that was supposed to be charentais but isn't. It is very good, sweet and aromatic with nice orange flesh. I have limited amounts of 30+ varieties of tomato, Oaxacan Green Dent Corn and Moth bean ( a relative of cowpeas with tiny seeds).

Adding:  I have Schwietzer Riesen Swiss Giant Snow Pea also.

spacecase0, anything in particular you are looking for?
I meant to mention, that if there is something anyone is especially interested in finding, post it here and maybe someone will have it and be able to share.

I really want Oxalis tuberosa
also called OCA Tubers
I missed getting some last year because they were sold out,

also looking for kiwi and banana seeds but not sure if they store well,
I should likely just go buy plants at a local place.

and does anyone have potato seeds ?
the potato flowers just drop off where I live and don't make the green pods with the seeds in them,
so I am stuck growing potatoes from other potatoes, and I would like some more genetic variation.

Edible bananas are seedless, so if you see seeds advertised, they're for an ornamental variety.

As a general rule, seeds from tropical plants have no shelf life.  Anything that goes dormant in the rain forest...is quickly outcompeted.

Tubers very similar to potatoes but more temperature resistant, frost kills it but anything above zero it keeps going. Orginally from the Andes. Tubers form late in the season. Resistant to blight and most diseases.

Tastes of lemon raw, sweet potato cooked. Leaves of the plant are also lemony and are nice in a salad.

spacecase, did you check Territorial for the oca? They have plants in stock. Expensive, though. I was wondering how you liked the sunberries. Did you make jam or pies with them?

the sunberries are good, they don't taste like much, and they look just like deadly night shade, so it worries me to eat them....
mainly it worries me because I grow deadly nightshade in my garden.
I only had them fresh,
if I was going to make jam, I would use ground cherries because they are very good

Territorial seeds is new to me, and it looks like they have it !
thank you !
