In the face of what could be humanity's greatest calamity, I have definitely been having some bad thoughts. For just a moment today, I thought I did not want to face tomorrow.

However, I realized that I come here for peoples honesty and support, and for the ability to stay anonymous. I then realized that because I come to this forum, I should feel no shame or feel a sense of weakness in calling a crisis hotline and get some things off my chest that sorely needed to be verbalized out loud. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but today, life goes on.

Anyone reading this feeling the same way or having similar thoughts, please, call someone and let it out.

oh Spiderman, good luck to you and thank you. You post will help others find the courage it takes to reach out.
It's hard isn't it, to reach out, but once you do it, you wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
 Wink
been there myself as a matter of fact, that's why I say that.

Glad you found it within yourself to ask for help when you needed it.

I'd venture to say many people have been in the dark place you visted today. Sometimes it takes more courage to go on, than to end it.

Glad you're here today:)! Whatever it is you're dealing with, go day by day. It sounds trite but is very true. Every day that you get through is a triumph.

Posting about your chioce to reach out is an breathtaking act of compassion-a lot of people going through something truly horrendous withdraw.

Thank-you!

We all come here to vent, learn and share what we feel and know.  And what we don't know.  And what we fear.  And what joy we find in the world, always.

There can be some jerks on here, but such is life.  The rest are wonderful.  Keep your head up!

Welcome!

Wow. How brave of you to come here and share that. Yes, by all means find somebody to talk to about your stuff. Sometimes just the talking helps you see things anew. Let us know how you're doing. We care.

I have a lot of bad thoughts, and one night I thought I reached the limit so I just posted link to a site I thought would be useful to others.
I didn't expect the reaction of so many of the forum and it really, really helped  Smiley

A good friend of mines sister committed suicide over a boyfriend more than 30 years ago.  Very sad.  I'm sure if she had not taken her life that boyfriend would just be a distant memory for her now.

I often think of that when things get bad.  How really important is this bad thing I am going through now.  How important will I think it is, in 10, 20 or 30 years?  Thinking that way sometimes helps put things into perspective.  Cry

been there baby.   and this forum helped me too.

that is why i find it particularly painful, this thing, this change it is going through. losing many of the old ones who helped me along the way....helped me find my way out of the darkness.  us thin-skinned folks are just wired different. there are hearts behind these screens.

glad it is better.  if the lights start dimmin again, pm one of us.  somebody will give you a helpin hand, darlin.

don't you forget that.  that is what community is for.

you hearin me, spidey?

anybody else out there?  reach out.  somebody will help you.

Been there, Spiderman, like so many of us. You've done a brave thing, no, two brave things: one was reaching out out for help, the second was posting here about it. I get very dark moments, and i'm going to come back to this thread when I do. Like Kopper and others said, community is what it's all about.

This forum was really helpful when I was trying to cope with the knowledge of peak oil. The Oil Drum just doesn't cut it with all the dry technical talk.

This forum is still helpful when living in a world of zombies talking on iphones.
