We're back above $100 this morning. It's weird how psychology changes. Back in August when oil was under $70 and Goldman Sachs said we would be at $95 at year end, my jaw dropped. I couldn't imagine anything that high. Sure enough we finished the year at $95. Now, I look at anything under $100 as cheap!

$100.54 right now.

Kinda makes $100.53 look like a real bargain, huh?

Or not. It just backed off a tad to $100.70.

Maybe it doesn't pay to be watching it so closely.

Nertz- I blinked and missed it. Bloomberg has it at $100.77 right now.

Like I said somewhere around here the other day: 100 is the new 80.

I'm in Eastern, and it's only 2:58. Make that 2:59.

There's no doubt that the price varies, depending on which commodites news service you are checking. I check Bloomberg, but I suspect he's a bit behind.

Ok, now it's 3:00.

I've given up trying to watch it throughout the day, but was curious today and checked in.  When I checked an hour ago it was going down and was $98.99.  Just now, it's at $100.78, and from reading this thread I see it's been over 101.  The only way to really "watch" it is to watch the patterns over time.

Yeah, it's just too easy to watch too closely. I told me co-worker earlier today that oil was at "$100.54", and he took it to mean "$154.00". Needless to say, he was amazed.

Considering oil has been going up about $20 every 4 months or so (october was 80, January was 100), I'd say that 154 is this summer at the latest.

Just over $101 right now. Will we see $102 this week?

Tomorrow?

By the way, I have to add: Oil's been bouncing over $100 for a bit now and the world hasn't come to an end. Eventually, someone will figure ouut that it can go higher without undue consequences.
