Woohaa, welcome to $78 oil.
I'm always nervous though when it comes to vertical moves. Enjoy the moment.

For now we could say that the $75 resistance level / glass ceiling is shattered.
Now to test that as *support*.

If it continues to blast through the seventy dollar levels, then that is a worry, and as some have mentioned, a suspicion.  I can do little other than pony up the money to pay the prices asked to drive my silver bullet into the brain of my offspring's offspring.

Only if stock equities rally, and for that to happen the earnings week has to be, you guessed it, "better than expected."

We're going up $1 a day like in early 2008. Peak oil is back!

Yeah, Drudge just linked to an $80 oil story.

We'll see if it lasts though, as we are past the traditional North American driving/demand season.

But we're entering the heating oil season. I might be wrong but I think I read global oil demand peaks in the 4th quarter and is lowest in April.

Well, you have never been wrong before.  I might be wrong.
