And people wonder why I don't get all choked up when one of these fucknuts gets gunned down in the line of duty.

we recently had a 12 yo boy with mental heath issues shot and killed by police because he was waving a pocketknife around at a skate park.

It is sad to see that the same mentality is shared globally.

Cops are tops!
WTF?!? I missed that one..  that's what I get for not watching the idiot-box..   link?

Happened a while ago in Melbourne. The community got (understandably) quite upset about it. It received most coverage on the ABC.
I will try and find the story....

Just to play devils advocate...

Parents aren't allowed to hit their kids; so when they get really out of control, the cops have to do it.....

If this was an isolated incident I would have just left the kid alone, let her cry it out and let her stay up as late as she needed to. When kids go into tantrums your main priority is to DISTRACT them and help them out of the tantrum. Nothing can be accomplished by playing bigger bully and trying to force your kid into submission.

There is a place for being strict, but not when your child cant even control their emotions at the moment. All you will end up doing by confronting them is fostering a personality that turns inward.

That girl has problems that need attending to, not tasing. JFC.

tasing a kid because she didn't want to go to bed? Did anyone think to stop and wonder why she was so upset?

nope, the police officer instead tells her she will "go to jail" (uh...for what?) and then helps her mother manhandle her into the bathroom, then gives her a jolt with a taser...

yep, I can see a child being totally co-operative with that. The kid was probably all worked up, and then was terrified of what was going to happen.

Massive FAIL on the adults involved - they should have known better than that. Waiting till she calmed down would have been a great start there.
