Do we need a new itch we can scratch?
Well here’s a good concept to catch;
It helps understand
The lay of the land:
The ways in which we detach.

Quote
to withdraw one's feelings of attachment from (a person, idea, or object), as in anticipation of a future loss: He decathected from her in order to cope with her impending death.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/decathexis
Quote
Decathexis is a psychoanalytical term that describes the withdrawal of cathexis....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decathexis
Quote
In psychodynamics, cathexis is defined as the process of investment of mental or emotional energy in a person, object, or idea.

Perhaps you are acting polite,
But don’t think this concept is trite;
Just check out this site,
It might come to light
That you are not doing it right!   Grin

Good grief! You say it so proud!
Well, O.K., for you it’s allowed.
(Because you know whether
They’re in it together.)
But not for the bulk of this crowd!   Grin

Ben, I think I've been disconnecting from the world around me because I'm afraid it just isn't going to last.
It's like the grief after losing a family member, but I haven't lost it yet. LOL
does that make any sense?

E.M. Forster wrote, "Only connect!"
But in doomy times we decathect.
It's a natural way
To get through a day
But on LATOC we're *much* more direct.   Grin

Now Ben is our bard nonpareil,
The rhymer who carries the grail.
We shouts, laughs and tingles
At his catchy jingles
And we know his wit never will fail!   Cool

Very good! And thank you!    Smiley

Those links which lose meaning we close
And away the cathexis flows;
The more we come here
And things get more clear,
Attachment to LATOC, it grows!    Grin
