MilDad, I think you are a cool guy, but I gotta ask, who did you vote for when Bush ran for his second term?

Pam, I ain't MilDad, but I have to raise my hand in shame and admit I voted for ole' George W. Dumbfuck ...... twice.  BUT - I just have to sit back and shake my head while watching everyone that sing the praises of Obama and actually BELIEVE all that Hope and Change bull shit.  I know there is nothing I can say to teach them the harsh lessons I learned from my Bush revelation, only time will reveal the truth to them - or not (most Bush supporters are still in denial, so why would Obama's be any different).  All that said, I think I am done voting.  Why waste my time voting against someone all the time.  Elections are like a coin toss where if it is heads we lose and if it is tails we lose. Cheesy

Edit to add:  Besides, all my vote had ever done is to cancel out my wife's. Cheesy

At least after voting for W twice, you have a face-palm avatar.  +10 on not voting any more.  It is worse than a waste of time, it's a vote in favor of the current system as a whole.

I'm not convinced this is a problem inherent in capitalism any more than it's inherent in the human condition as a whole. If anything, in many contexts, property rights solved the tragedy of commons problem and maintained resources. Those property rights need to be extended to the air. Cap n Trade makes more sense to me han intellectual property rights, which are much more abstract. This is possibly the only topic with which I aggree with the democrats. I find it odd that market/property oriented republicans reject this position.

Cap 'n Trade is a scam, there isn't any proof that the offsets do anything, in fact i posted a  thread to the contrary a few weeks ago.

When we realize we're doomed after Obama's term, can we all finally give up on voting?  I don't get why any of you pay attention to politics the way you do.  Just ignore these people!  They will do what they do whether you are watching or not!  The more you participate, the further along this nonsense system is perpetuated.  Get your land, farm it, learn skills, build community.  Slowly acclimate yourself to a life without their fiat currency.  In short - actively create the alternative.

Just walk away from these jokers! Just-walk-a-way. They are not your lords, your bosses, your leaders, unless you accept the subjugation.

Yes, I say YES, and again, YES!
