That Florida's population is actually declining for the first time in like, recorded history, IS news.  An influx has changed to an exodus for the first time in that State.  As cranky and unhappy as some retirees might be there under normal conditions, enough has changed for the worse there, that many are pulling up stakes and leaving.

My family came to Florida circa 1885.  They admit it peaked 50 years ago and the quality of life has diminished rapidly ever since, but they still like living here.  I've tried but simply can't budge any of them.  In this case, roots suck.
