In case that's not enough pthalate exposure, they also put it in everything from baby bottle nipples to rubber duckys.  It's widely used in everything because it makes plastics so nice and supple.

I hate to say it but I guess I must be a cave man because the whole girly man trend makes me a little ill. I can see not being an all out ape but androgyny is just fucking weird to me. I can't see how this isn't just a LOOK AT ME thing taken to an extreme.  

Yeah, and it is kind of strange, I've been told I am "scary looking" because I have a beard and moderately heavy bone structure in my face...I look like my grandparents and great-grandparents...not an anime character.

Oh for sure. I mean, just looking at the typical young/young adult male right now- very, very feminine. Macho men are very very rare these days!

Plus, young women seem to be flocking to the fem-male look....

jeeze, tell me about it.  Took me a long time to find one who wasn't into that fem-male look at all and compatible with me. Hell she would be upset if i went and shaved all over.

You'd think we could quit waving the gender-roles flag, what with the world about to end and all.  How is that kid any different from the glam rock superstars whose "classic" songs are the musical bread and butter of homophobic neanderthals everywhere?

A quick survey of anthropology will show that human perceptions of gender and beauty have changed and flip flopped all over the place within all kinds of societies since we crawled out of the caves.  Nothing new.

Wow, y'all would have a field day with my picture circa 3 years ago. Mohawk or nearly shaved head, oversized button up shirt, combat boots, black slacks, minimal (or no) makeup, etc. And no, I wasn't a lesbian. Or is it somehow less acceptable to bend gender appearances for men?

My taste of men are neither overly feminine nor alpha male; but given the choice between that guy and, say, a football player or construction worker, I'd take that dude. Of course I would be teasing him relentlessly for his hair, though

I've been thinking about this, yeah, I know I need a life. Anyway, it's not that asexual/metrosexual guys look gay, seriously, if you're sane who careswhat someone else's personal business is?! ,o, it's that they look like frackin' vampires, and who likes bloodsuckers, I'm asking! Truly, who here hasn't known at least one psychic vampire? I seem to attract the little nasties, arrgh, it's enough to make me look for the oak stake.

I think this has more to do with the whole "Emo" thing than actual sexuality.  "Emo" is just about as tired and done as neon ski wear.  "Emo" (for males anyway) is the pendulum of masculine emotional awareness swung to the extreme of emotional exibhitionism and affective masturbation.  Being a teenager sucks.  We get it.  Get a f*cking grip.

Bah...it's just another fad variation....we've always had jocks, freaks, geeks, goth an so on and each group has it's girls also.

20 years from now he will cringe anytime his wife breaks out that pic for a laugh with friends at his expense. 

Now I am rather miffed about missing out on these 20 something teachers putting out for the boys.....
