dollar weakness abroad has enabled me to resume the shameless pimping of art of others and other cultures.

Hey maitreya, The work you represent is of the highest caliber and honestly it will be hard for most artists here to post after seeing that gallery work.  Wink I don't want to piss you off, but when Redreamer and I were talking about the need for an artist thread, it was for the artists who participate at LATOC. I think the original idea was to create a place where the artists could show their work AND be involved in discussion with the LATOC artists community. You posted a link to all of your artists earlier, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and IMHO that is enough.

Upon rummaging about I discovered that I really DO need to take some photos of my earrings etc.,  this is the best I could come up with:
On the right, some of my beadwork
http://www.facebook.com/deborah.yost?ref=name#/photo.php?pid=1964215&id=652225208

top shelf, mostly my work
http://www.facebook.com/deborah.yost?ref=name#/photo.php?pid=1964269&id=652225208

I am a hobbyist, BTW, not a jeweler.  To be nit-picky but accurate, an actual jeweler has a degree from here
http://www.revereacademy.com/
(as does my daughter)  or certification from here  http://www.jewelers.org/profdevelopment/certification.html (as does my hubby) or similar accredited schools.
Just so ya know.

edited to fix poopy link

Annie I don't use Facebook, so couldn't see your images!   :'(  I guess I will have to break my vow of never creating an account there.  Wink

Edit: Ok, signed up for Facebook and was hit with several pages of people I know. I did not even use correct information to create the account. Now that scares the hell out of me. For one, how the heck does Facebook know who my acquaintances are, and second, I don't want to talk to anybody there, life is too short.

So Annie, can you post some photos that show your beadwork up close and personal?  Grin

Nice thread!!!  There's nothing better than a bunch of creative folks sharing what they do.  I guess I'll contribute with some of my recent hand sewn, original patterned, leather.  From my etsy shop:

And of course there's more stuff on my personal website:

Enjoy!

Holy shit!  What is wrong with me?  I didn't know this thread existed.  I haven't even read all the posts and already I'm artistically salivating.  Thanks Red!
