Wow! Very impressive! Sure love your "Leaving the Cities", Pamela! This is how I envision collapse will eventually look like... The trail of tears?...
Ok, flying leap here in exposing myself   http://stores.ebay.com/U-P-NORTH-SUNCATCHERS  I was tutored as a young child in the fine arts and studied under a very fine artist in college. However, fine art does not sell well here in Northern Michigan and to be competitive at the local shows, I've found stained glass to be that medium and have been at it for over 25 years. Heh! ha! That makes me one of the longest lasting crafters on the Michigan circuit today. My wife and I sure love going to the shows and travel throughout the state. Ha! The life of the weekend gypsy! Grin

I don't think anyone would want what I've been doing, been having fun with mutant chickens lately, and other unsavory species.  Wink
I do have a recent children's book on Amazon, but no MZBs in there, just the true story of a rescued clydesdale:

I occasionally do quality stuff, but the work I do most often is doodles on whiteboards making inside jokes about science and chickens.

Thank you very much Pamela. They just create themselves. When I was commuting in to Seattle to teach, I took a small sketchbook along. In the morning on the commuter bus, I would put the pencil on the paper, look out the window, and squiggle without looking at the page. I did this several times until the page was filled.

The bumpy bus ride added extra lines that I would not have achieved sitting at a desk. Then I would look back and see who was there. Obviously what I saw were things familiar to me, like goats, chickens, rabbits, etc. mixed with vegetables and too many scifi movies. The last one in this set was obviously inspired from watching Gladiator and a Cyclops movie the night before. Smiley

During the smooth ferry ride on the way home, I would add the value and detail. Later I would scan the page and colorize them in Photoshop. If one in particular caught my fancy, I would enlarge it and start the painting process, again in Photoshop.

Writing about the process almost makes me miss the 4 hour commute. almost.  Grin

Edited to add: The looks on the other commuters faces as they saw what I was drawing? Priceless!

Those were a hoot, although I did not understand exactly what you were writing about. Who, what, where, why, when? Curiosity has the better of me. I love the creative process more than the finished piece, and sequential images on a theme are intriguing!

I did those drawings for my physics classes, so they deal with general relativity, nanotechnology, and biophysics. There's a whole lot of context that even I don't remember, but in most cases, you just need some physics under your belt to get the joke.

I bet you are a great teacher! I wish you had been my instructor!  looks like your humor could help anyone struggling with the ideas.

Actually, when I said "my physics classes", I meant the classes I was taking. I'm still a student. Of course, I'm now also a teaching assistant, so I do get to put my skills to good use.

Don't know if it counts, and I posted a link on it a few months back - but I've made available my first album on the link in my sig. Feel free to have a listen-through, and spread it around if you want to.

I make some nice little bead earrings and bead bracelets and a few necklaces. Work in glass, Swarovski crystal, wood, bone and stone beads. Sell them at my husband's & daughter's little gallery. They're the real jewelers, though, who work in gold, silver, platinumn and copper.
