Shit's going to get really FUBAR really soon, soon as in months and not years.
If I had a penny for every time a paraphrase of this has been posted around here...

Yep, that's true. People have been predicting imminent FUBAR for as long as I've been on here, which includes a considerable time spent lurking before joining. BTAIM (be that as it may), sooner or later, somebody's going to get it right. I look back on a year ago, and thing's ARE noticeably worse. What's that game where you see how many pieces you can remove before the whole thing goes *SPLAT*? Jenga? Something like that...anyway, that's what it feels like to me, a slow-motion Jenga game.

and so it begins..............

Not you again! You are cracking me up.

On the Animal Husbandry thread:

UrbanFarmer: My goat just kidded!
Roberto Thorn: And so it begins....

On the Food Storage thread:

Indian Girl: Anyone know where to get desiccants?
Roberto Thorn: And so it begins...

In the Thunderdome:

Mtlouie: Shut up, Stan!
Roberto Thorn: And so it begins...

I'm trying to get all scared and doom-y, here, and every time you show up I bust out laughing. Cut it out!

A Thorn in your side...

Did I really say something so pedestrian as, "Shut up, Stan!"   Grin

Cripes, if the Wall Street Journal is interviewing Mike Ruppert and not painting him as a total crackpot...well...let me just say I hope everyone has their preps in order and are loaded for bear.  Shit's going to get really FUBAR really soon, soon as in months and not years.

That's ***EXACTLY*** what I thought too.

I thought the same thing.  Sorry, but my tinfoil antenna goes up when rags like the WSJ start interviewing people like Mike in a good light.  Why?   It's too late to fix anything.

I too agree - I also think that maybe Mike did a deal that allowed him to return to the US and to do his work as long as he stays far away from the 9/11 bogyman. Note also that other like commentators have done the same.

I also speculate that this is also part of the controlled winding down of the current system. TPTB obviously know the the limits to growth have been surpassed. I just hope that the mad scramble for the last easy bits doesn't lead to all out war.

The truth needs to trickle out slowly for numerous social reasons with FEMA camps for those who can't handle it.

...well, the WSJ did publish the article in the Arts and Entertainment section. However, I agree that "Shit's going to get really FUBAR really soon, soon as in months and not years."

Mike was in USA Today on Monday, here:

Also got word this morning that the BBC ran a three-minute segment on "CoLLapse", too. Anybody see it?

Just a reminder - "CoLLapse" opens tomorrow in New York City at the Angelika Film Center.

It needs a huge opening, so if you can, BE THERE!

Wow, beautiful picture Mike, beautiful picture.
(I love that picture soo much) it will be in my hallway of frame
(this is my low-tech- heart emoticon, heart, heart, heart)

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT section? Hmmmm?

MCR hit the Big Time before he even hit the Big Time.

Independent journalist Michael Ruppert predicted the global recession.
Now he's foreseeing an imminent energy crisis

Great journalism by ANTHONY who
Did great work anyway reporting on some GREAT COMING ATTRACTIONS
and it will put a booster in the economy when everyone is out buying tickets if they can.

Wow movies are still selling and WJS (imagine that) is still in business.
And now Mike is an entertainer.

You go, Baby, you are the Real Deal to me.

It would be an enormous oversimplification to say that oil price 'caused' the world recession,
but the fact that the price spike and the economic crisis occurred at the same time is hardly meaningless coincidence.

i'm a little concerned for mike's mental health

on his blog he's mentioned being DONE and wanting to focus his time on/in his band

that would be great if he was 20, or maybe 30 . . .

i think he should get a job as a radio DJ.  he can play music he likes AND go off with callers about his whole world.

"that was another classic from CCR, now lets talk about this nonsense we're seeing in the paper today about hydrogen for passenger cars . . . "

hell, i'd pay $20/mo to listen to the MCR music/talk show.

but the idea of buying a CD, or going to a show, of him rocking out - that's fantasy land . . .

...you could sell the copper and buy your own fiefdom. But you know, shit will inevitably get FUBAR at some point.  I guess it all depends on what your definition of FUBAR is...50% unemployment, $10/gallon gasoline, hyperinflation akin to Zimbabwe, permanent electrical blackouts, nuclear war, could be anyone of these or all of the above, take your pick.

The Wall Street Journal, like many other papers nationwide, has been rather critical of the status quo for quite a while now, owing to one simple fact---the poor economy is killing their paper sales!! It's simply a matter of self-interest from their perspective.
