I grabbed all 6 episodes of the first season. From what I've quickly scanned it looks pretty good. Flu virus epidemic starts to spread round England and so on. You can grab the torrents by searching for Survivors and look for the new version. The old one was pretty nicely done, this one appears to be better. Only question is if it will survive for season 2, as lots of programming is being cut for money reasons. Witness Primeval, which was a hell of a good series that they cut off for budget reasons.

The cheaper it is, the less likely it is to get the chop. Primeval has lots of FX, Survivor probably doesn't need anything but backdrops that suggest urban decay... not too hard to find these days.

The original series was one of my fave BBC SciFi shows. Should be interesting.

I'm a big fan of the original series, have all 3 seasons on DVD and downloaded. I tried to give the new series the benefit of the doubt, but it left a lot to be desired. Far too much immediate gratification and violence in each episode. None of the originals sense of just trying to find other survivors and setting up some sort of community.

I wait to see what becomes of season 2, which is due to be in a more urban setting. Myself, I'm more looking forward to the remake of Day of the triffids.

I started watching it on BBC Canada. Totally and utterly hooked! I do have some problems watching it though because it is so damn plausible! I've had one or two nightmares too. I was watching the first episode with my dad and we started talking:
"ya'know, the living are gonna have to leave the city in a week," I said during the commercial break.
"why?" he said.
"'cause the bodies are gonna start decomposing soon and the stench is gonna be horrible" I said.
"They could come back in a few months though," he said.
"Nah, they'll need to wait a few years for the bodies to decompose because they'll probably be a harsh winter due to the sudden drop in carbon output and a potential nuclear winter due to all the power stations possibly melting down which, either way, will lead to a slow rate of decomp."
"Interesting..."
"Hm mmm."

When I was little, I wanted a castle with ponies and knights. Now, as an adult, I want a subterranean bunker with an army of ninja's and a couple dozen tanks at my disposal.
