Liked The Road better.

Could see the obvious similarities between the two books.

What a godawful amount of butchery and gore.

He must have interesting nightmares, unless his books ARE his nightmares.

Blood Meridian is the best novel ever written. Period end of story.

Go back to bed. Your government is in control.

I heard that they were planning to make a movie out of it, but I can't imagine that they could do it any justice.  What a brutal read and a good reminder that the settling of the West was hardly the nobel enterprise it is sometimes made out to be.

They say Todd Field is directing/writing. McCarthy says it can be done, but I don't think he's actively helping in anyway. They'll cut it down to the bare essentials, lose a lot along the way, and end up with something pretty cool I suppose. For a couple years I've figured they'll never actually get it done. Who knows though, somehow they keep things rolling.

I would LOVE to see the scene with the Comanche war party attacking them brought to life!

Yep, they've got no choice but to put that scene in and do it to the hilt.

I'm just waiting to see who they can get to play the Judge.

My vote is W. Earl Brown for Toadvine.
