That's a good point.  Although I think Lou Dobbs is a mouthpiece for "them."

the shot  supposedly fired at Lou Dobbs house could very well been nothing more than a stray shot from a hunter

the bullet hit the siding on the house and fell to the ground
apparently came from quite a distance to do that
