Humans are just naturally greedy and when it comes to money we all want more. What balances this greed out is fear, the fear of losing money, the money we have. When the government backstops any losses then it removes that fear and we have moral hazard.

Now i see a lot of ppl have strong feelings about this bankster.  but i want you to know he really cares about you and your families.  in fact he is going to give a lot of that money he sto... i mean earned during the bai.. err temporary loan that they already paid back and you made money off it.. hes going to give a lot of it to charity.  dont you feel bad for criticizing him?  I mean sure hes never given to charity significantly before now unless it got him admission to some extravagant ball full of impessionable young career women and scores of business and political contacts, but the important thing is hes seen the light now.  goldman realizes the need to donate and donate they will, to the Cayman Islands Refugee Relief Fund.  CIRRF or "surf" has been doing a lot of grass roots work for years now helping people who have in good conscious left the banking industry and moved their official addresses to the Cayman Islands where they are learning how to develop progressive bank holding companies and "edge" funds (money that stays btw the borders of nations)  that will make capital available to repossess err...rebuild america.  This charity will help CIRRF bring peace to the troubled Cayman Islands residents who are forced to spend days on the rough tides of the islands contemplating their fate.  Thank you Goldman.  We are sorry we raised an eyebrow at this unknown act of benevolence to humanity.
