I've got two midterms next week, and another one the following week plus I need to have two papers due before then.
Ahem, if you will allow me:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

*runs around in circles, screaming like a banshee*

It's not so much that I'm worried about them, I'm worried about failing them! I failed a history midterm and spent 10 minutes in the bathroom crying because I had studied so hard and I only got 49%! (which was so, sooooo frustrating!)
ARRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!

I got back a test today. Failed with about 52%. And that was after scaling...

In a lot of ways, I prefer writing papers. I even have a great method for doing them: wait until the night before it's due, then start. Sometimes I'll even finish the morning of the due date.  Cheesy
And I tend to make As on them also.  Wink I guess I just work better with a little pressure.

You must have one of those history profs who make you take loads of notes and then on the tests there is a lot of stuff that was obscure/not covered much or at all. Or a prof that does favoritism. I can usually pull a B out of them, if I sit up front.  Smiley

You can fail with a 52%??? Here, that's considered a pass by the skin of your teeth Grin. I couldn't do that, I think I'd die from stress, lol.
Omg. She WAS like that! It was horrible, it was 'terms' and you had to have terms perfectly organized. There was one question worth 10% and we had only spent 10 minutes on it! I ended up making 200 flash cards for everything we covered and got a C+ for my work Tongue
I won't say anything about favouritism, because I shall not tempt the education gods  Wink

I wish I could pass with 52%. No, around here 70% is passing for a test. Actually, though, we can pass a class with a D (60%) as long as it isn't within our major. I've had to take advantage of that before.  Grin

I took a Spanish history class not too long ago, and the instructor just gave us facts to write down(but some days we'd watch movies and other stuff, so it wasn't all bad). So we'd write about 6 pages of notes. Most people failed the tests. He played favorites, too. I failed about half the stuff in the class, but he gave us some filler points and I managed to make a C in it.   Cheesy

There just aren't that many good history profs. I think they need to be good storytellers, instead of just focusing on making you take notes. For Western Civ I had a prof who would lecture mostly with telling stories instead of "This happened in 1400. That occurred in 1433." He was cynical, and saw the dark humor in history. That's how I first learned about the darkside of civilization.  Cheesy

no history teacher could be as bad as my current one.... she doesn't ever know what she's talking about, and she reads her lessons out loud from the textbook. Yet somehow history is my best subjects this year.

I had a history teacher who taught Canada before confederation,  and he was hysterical. Full of sarcasm for the British and Americas, there was always a couple of chuckles. Plus every class we watched about 1 hour of a documentary/mini-series which helped to bring everything home. It was pretty neat. History AFTER confederation, omg, that's the class that made me cry!
I have two teachers now that are trying to be so politically correct and I want to scrub my eyes. My archaeology teacher was good and really funny. He once had these two skulls, a neanderthal skull and a homosapien skull. He started having them talk to each other then make out while making these 'smooch' sounds and then pointing out the genetic makeup which wouldn't allow for there to be crossbreeding between us. XD Blunt and heavy with sarcasm! Wonderful combination!
