I decided to spare my blood pressure from some of the newbie jackasses on the forum by putting them on my "Ignore" list. But it doesn't seem to be working. I can still see their posts. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing, it only blocls pms from that person not posts. There does not seem to be a workable ignore patch for this version of the forum software unfortunately.

Hey!  I have a question.  Is there any way to (after you are in either the "Show new replies to your posts" or "Show unread posts since last visit") delete just a single thread if you aren't interested in reading it?

I can't believe how I can leave the forum for half a day and come back to six or seven pages of new posts.

Anyway, I've been wondering that for awhile and have yet to figure out if that is possible.

I think that's what the "unsubscribe" feature is for.  Saw it around somewhere.  Possibly on the thread itself?

NVM, Louie.

Doesn't appear to be a way.  I even looked it up.

At the end, they propose the workaround of deleting your original post, but that's the only way.  I must have been thinking of another forum.

There are several posters that I ignore their posts
It would be great if we didn't have to see them at all!  Grin
But since that isn't possible - I just don't read anything they write  Tongue

This isn't about the ignore function, but maybe someone could tell me this.

When does a post go from being deletable to modifiable? Is it a time issue, or only after another post has been posted to that thread?

That's my solution.

Here, I've quoted your post.  See if you can modify it, or only delete it.  I'm quite sure you can modify your post after someone else has posted in the topic.

houseoftang, I can modify it, but not delete it. That makes sense - seeing as you quoted it. But I haven't been able to delete posts, even if no one has quoted them. So I was wondering if that happens after a certain length of time.

Can you delete posts at all?  I can't see how.  I'm going to try and delete this one immediately.

Don't seem to be able to delete a post right after I make it, even.  How do you delete posts?  I don't think you can, only mods can.

I've deleted posts before. Maybe it depends on whether or not the thread has been read since you posted. If it hasn't been read, then possibly that's the only time that you can delete a post.

Hmm.  Let me try it again.

Nope, I literally immediately tried to delete my post.

You can delete threads you've posted.  Maybe that's what you're thinking?

I'm going to try this. Yeah, you're right - I couldn't delete it right after I posted it.

So really, we can't delete posts? Hmmm, wonder why not. Ah well.
