Same here, TLR.  And many of mine are bizarre-pleasant and unpleasant.  I don't have as many frightening dreams since I stopped drinking milk.  Yeah.

I started keeping a dream journal several years ago.  Recently, I've stopped having really vivid dreams.  But my dreams were so vivid that I would wake up in a cold sweat.
My 5 y/o stopped having night terrors when we took her off dairy.

That's weird. I used to drink a lot of milk as a kid/teen and had nightmares all the time. I stopped drinking it around 18 (though I still eat a lot of cheese) and I almost never have nightmares any more.

I had a very strange doomish dream last night, but I was very exhausted after a 4-day visit (with the customary excessive inebriation) from one of my good friends.  The dream was at night and I was standing on the outskirts of some large, unidentified city (didn't look familiar to me).  I saw this ridiculously large aircraft that basically looked like a giant aircraft carrier coming down for a landing (although there was no airstrip).  Once it landed, a ramp came down and legions of people in dark blue uniforms with DHS insignia started swarming off the aircraft, followed by unmarked buses.  I knew they were coming to round up a large amount of people, but I didn't know who, so I fled off into the night.  And then I woke up.

Weird.

I dreamed of hockey players, wearing masks, and riding horses. Threatening, like.
I woke myself up, and wondered 'what could it mean?'
Then I remembered the "hockey stick" graphs showing world population, CO2, debt, inflation, etc.

they look like this:

I have repetitive dreams about failing exams. Usually, I go in for extra study or something, but two nights ago, for the first time, I began to realize that I just couldn’t understand the material on a calculus exam and looked for the teacher to drop the course.
I have these dreams all the tome. I havent been to school in 10 years, nor do I even care if i have any diplomas at all any more

Weird.

I had one just like that a few years ago, except it was set in England. The men in uniforms were coming to round us up and they had some aliens with them. I was sitting in a hiding place in a building with some other people and we were just waiting to see what happened. I looked out of the window and the view was from my old house, where there were hundreds of acres of woodland right across the road and our bedroom looked into the trees. I saw Mr heat loping across the road and into the woods, carrying a huge axe, and I thought 'Oh, for fooks sake!' and I sat there wondering if he'd ever come back. Some time later, he came in through the door holding a bloody axe and he was knocked about a fair bit, but he looked very pleased with himself and I was intensely relieved to see him. Then I woke up.

About 2 weeks ago I had this dream that two friends and myself were in this city, just walking down the street. I looked up at the sky, and I saw these 3 bright stars, during the middle of the day. I kept looking at them, and underneath them formed the numbers 132. I thought that was kinda odd, but then thousands of these other stars started appearing behind them and I asked my friend if they were seeing what I was seeing. They said yeah, and people started freaking out. I dug my camera out of my purse and was filming them when one when I saw that it looked like the barrel of a cannon (or tank, if you will). And then it fired. and others started firing these huge fireballs at the city. My friends ran off screaming, and I, for some stupid reason, ran towards the fire where I saw these monsters running from the fire too, they were screaming and on fire and i got the feeling they weren't attacking us, they were going after the monsters.

Last night I had a dream that woke me up, but I can't remember any details at all.   The only thing I remember is "75,000 dead"

I woke up gasping for air.

I dreamed last night that my old dog was still alive and had been kidnapped by the Swedish army, who were doing some weird mind control stuff on him. Somehow or other, he was found wandering about in a daze and was taken in by a neighbour and I was able to rescue him. No idea where that came from.

Last night I had one of the strangest dreams yet.  The content was dull, however the way it was conceived?  Bizarre.

I was having trouble sleeping last night and finally found a good position to just hold.  After a few minutes, I decided to turn on the light and get up.  I tried to turn it on but with no success.  The alarm clock was off as well.  So, I walk into the living room and see that it there is lightning and rain outside.  Nothing exciting, so I go back to bed and my alarm clock is now sporting green numbers instead of red and they are changing randomly.  At this time, I wake up and am able to turn on the light with no problem.  It never rained last night either.

All of this transpired while I was "awake".  The transition from consciousness to dreamland was seamless.  It seems like I never fell asleep.

My first lucid dream?  Huh

yes. lucidity is almost always established the first time by using a light switch that does not function

Last night I had one where I was walking around Providence and the city had seriously turned to shit.  It was boarded up, garbage everywhere, broken people walking around. I was with my little girls and we turned the corner on to this dingy avenue where there was one really nice restaurant with a valet service out front.  We crossed the street to take a look and there in the restaurant was Tom Collichio from Top Chef speaking to his staff, they were having a meeting.  Somehow I ended up in a banquet room with him talking about how he should handle his finances and I was trying to explain to him that none of this was going to last long...

Then all of a sudden I was in my car driving the kids home and I took a dirt back road I am familiar with and just when it started becoming really rural I saw up ahead that the road was blocked.  It seemed like there were several barriers to this road block; the first was a row of shacks, actually, they were barely shacks they were more like a bunch of lean-tos.  After that there seemed to be a row of grapevines.  Then finally there was a really tall stockade fence with barbed wire along the top.  At the gate there were some rather dirty looking pot-bellied guys sporting rifles on their shoulders.  One of them came toward my car and ordered me back the way I came.  So I turned back and as I continued down the road the clouds in the sky were really dark and billowing upward into huge thunderheads, like the mother of all thunderstorms was about to come.  Then I woke up.

My dream was, somehow I was in charge of "my" side in a civil war (but no one was killed), and all I could think was "why the heck am I in charge?!  I'm not the one who knows the most about this stuff!"  Then I woke and realized that as far as LATOC stuff goes, yeah, I am; BUMMER!

I had a really fucking horrible dream last night.

I was someone else, a young woman, and I was living in an enclosed community which was slightly futuristic - lots of digital displays on things, very modern set up, that sort of thing. Not like here. There was a big kitchen area and I was in there and a man came in. He was a little older than me and in the dream I knew him. He started hitting on me and I didn't want it at all and tried to push him away. He grabbed me from behind and forced me to my knees, then sat behind me and pulled me against him. I tried to get away and couldn't, because he was so much bigger than me, but managed to let him know that I didn't want anything to do with him.

At that point - ugh, it was nasty, nasty, nasty - he reached under himself, squitted out a handful of shit into his hand and wiped it across my face. I struggled really hard and got away. Later, I'm talking to an older man. He is one of the ones who are in charge and he seems like a psychologist. I haven't told anyone yet what happened because I feel so violated and dirty, but need to tell someone because I know that this man is dangerous and he'll hurt someone. I tell the in charge man and he looks alarmed. As I talk I burst into tears of shame and rage, but the man says that something needs to be done and I get the feeling that the nasty man will be sorted out somehow.

I woke up after that and lay in bed in the dark, thinking 'Where the hell did that come from?'. My heart was racing and I was sweating. The memory of it came back several times over the day and I really don't know where such vileness came from. Last night we had a normal dinner, drank tea, sat and talked for a while, read for a while. Right before bed, I was looking at pictures of kittens, for goodness sake.

Let it not happen again.

This must be a common theme; I have this type of dream all of the time. I'm also usually a "new kid" at school who gets there right before the exam. At some point in the dream I realize my real age (now 40!) and I'm all the more humiliated to be at school as a middle aged person with a test I'm unprepared for in front of me.
