Kind of sobering to discover that all my learning about peak oil etc may well be for nothing. Can't really see such a delcate wee flower as myself managing to survive frankly

Your anxiety could be caused by waiting for some kind of direction to appear. It's possible once TSHTF direction and seeing what needs to be done will make all the difference for you.

(It's what I'm hoping for myself. Not on any anti-depressants, never have been though I know I've been very depressed many times in my life along with anxiety, too. I just figure it's because I refuse to fit into the system. Just can't make myself fit even when I've tried. So many times I've envied others who just go along and appear successful. It's a good illusion while it lasts I guess. Just not for me.)

All the SSRI drugs were bad news for me. It's not uncommon to be tolerant of a psychotropic one time and intolerant the second time. I think its the body's way of saying "I'm not doing that again!!"

If you want an anti-depressant drug, consider the SNRI drugs Effexor or Cymbalta. Overall, this class is considered more effective. Another I like as much as I can like any psychotropic, is Wellbutrin. It doesn't even bother with serotonin and goes straight for the dopamine and norepinephrine. Sometimes people's depression is dopamine based, not serotonin. Often when a patient doesn't do well on either an SSRI or SNRI, this is used either alone or with an SSRI. It gives you energy (believe me, I remember!) and has little to no sexual side effects unlike other anti-depressants. No weight gain either, people tend to lose weight on it. If you're Bipolar or have Atypical Depression, Wellbutrin might not be a good idea, it could cause a manic episode.

If you really want to live with the side effects awhile longer to see if it's going to work, pair it with any of the benzodiazepines. I love Clonazepam, but everyone is different. It gives my mom suicidal depression. I'm happy, relaxed, rested and ready to face the world with my measly .5mg.
