Ok, I'll tell you what's frightening.  Trying to find pictures, articles or any reference whatsoever about Detroit slums.  Absolutely scrubbed off of all mainstream search engines.  Did find this however:  Amazing pictures of what has been Detroit for decades and is now getting even worse.

let me enlighten you.   as a long time resident of the detroit metro area here are a few simple things you outsiders should know.

1.  the local and national media do not cover detroit except things about the auto companies, crime, sports and recently the rock bottom price of real estate.  A conversation about poverty and its root causes in our society is not in the elite agenda for proper brainwashing of the bourgeoisie of Amerika.

2.  the slums of detroit are in fact scattered throughout the city and are the result of entire ethnic classes and/or employers engaging in successive mass exoduses from the city at different times over the past 40 years.

3. the city is now in fact broke and the pro civil rights black middle class that controlled the city from the time of Coleman Young in the early 70's and gradually gave way tointernal and external corruption has now been completely replaced by a class of exploiters that are controlled by big buisness to milk the city of every last dime, drive it into collpase and capture all the remaining infrastructure and more importantly. the extra governmental legitimacy by the failure of the municpal government to run the city outright.  Indeed Robocop was not far from the actual reality of what has happened to detroit.  There is even a Delta City revitalizastion effort to rebuild a small corporate "green zone" where the city can be ruled from in realitive safety and provide a PR facade for the corporate class to demonstrate their benevolance by providing a small oasis from the collapse they ahve in fact engineered.
