While funny, it would help to do the duck and cover.  The clothes, and even newspaper will help to prevent burns from the infrared rays.  Hell, a Newspaper will block alpha rays.

If your close to the bomb the radiation exposure will likely kill you within weeks. Those people in the YouTube vidio of placing a newspaper over themselves will all be dead within a week due to gamma ray radiation.
Nuc war is a bad thing and I hope I never have to see it.

Sure, you could survive a nuclear war, but why would you want to? Everything will glow green night and day, the mall will be overrun with brain-eating zombies and the ants will be fifty feet tall.

Then again, taken all together, that could be pretty funny.

Maybe I'll stick around.

Yay!!!

Joking

Actually, little know fact. You know how people say that if an ant was the size of a dog, it could carry you away?

Quite incorrect, if an ants was the size of a dog, it probably couldn't even carry itself.

Part of the strength of an ant is due to it's small size, because the design is compact, selfsupporting and the muscle density is incredibly high for its's size.

Scale it up and it would lack the strength and the chittin would be far too heavy

Out on my lunch time walk today I watched a small lizard jump off of a wall, land on the sidewalk and scurry into the bushes. It was amazing. The little (3") lizard jumped off of a cliff at least 50 times his height and never batted an eye. Let's see YOU jump off of a 275 foot cliff, land on your feet and run away.

Size apparently DOES matter.

Wouldn't you love to have some of those capabilities? If we could just leap over small buildings and mountains I would be impressed - say a hundred or so feet at a pop. But then if everybody could do that we would not  be that special I suppose.  Of course we do have our trucks - for now - ever seen a  lizard driving. They are probably perched on a shrub/bush(no pun intended)thinking to themselves, " if I just had a small motorcycle or even a go cart", as we speed by.

Yeah, the lizards here are like little reptilian super heroes: blindingly fast, able to leap huge distances- and fall unscathed from even greater heights. Of course, they're also breakfast, lunch and dinner for just about everything else down here, so I guess it all evens out.

(It's the big circle of life, Simba.)
