14% tuition hikes in a deflationary environment, where people are losing jobs and those who graduate can't find any?  let's see how that fabulous plan works out.

Im still waiting to see State schools to close.  Seriously, they have to be on the chopping block in places.  There is just no way they are going to keep functioning.  The only reasons they havent closed already is because of unions and the politics of the economic impact of a collapsing state school.  At some point, either the State will decide they have to feed the people with that money and the schools and unions can F themselves, or the kids will simply stop showing up, and the few tenured profs that actually exist will have gone insane by that point.

I think this is maybe showing the experiment of every couple separating from the family and setting up their own separate home far from the others and having everything for themselves and not shared is just a failure.  Our culture does this big separation each generation and then expects the government to step in and continue the separation through the persons life until they die.  Through our whole evolution the family mostly stayed together as an extended group and they worked together to feed and take care of themselves including the kids and elderly.  There wasn't an expectation that the government would hire strangers to come in and feed, bath and give their elderly company in their dying years.   Glutted with a spike of oil wealth it worked for a while but with normal resource availability it is not sustainable and unbalanced to live like that.  Maybe part of preps for the future is not raising your kids with the expectation they are children until 18 and have no real responsibility for the current family only their new family once they are booted out and start cranking out their own kids.  That could help a lot with the welfare and disabled problems.

We don't take care of human beings with the love and care we take care of our fucking pets.

They're our pets.

A key human attribute is that of distinction and sorting.  We are able to distinguish differences in things and people almost instantly through visual observation.  The ability to distinguish between friend/foe, tribe member/non-member was paramount to our survival as a species.

What makes you think that a few thousand years of "conditioning," be it religious or philosophical, could reverse this innate trait?

Others are not members of our "tribe."  Our pets are.

I have been helping the needy and BUMS my whole life....... even when I was a little girl.
Good Karma and all that stuff....what goes around comes around.

The thing that gets me most about people that don't believe in helping the BUMS is that they say they they wont help some one that is going to spend it on Booze or smokes or drugs.  I SAY. Who cares what they spend it on, if I was in their position I would probably want to drink, smoke and do drugs too, its very hard for people to walk in someone elses shoes....I have always been able to do that and that is one of my best qualities... And I don't have too many...LOL LOL>

Yeah, I fed a coupla bums earlier today because of their incessant begging, and there was some leftover chicken back that I didn't really want.  I don't give them food often because I don't want them hanging out here at night, mating loudly and expecting me to take care of their every need.

Sometimes I can't help but feed them a little though, they're very polite and cute for bums - one has blue eyes and the other has yellow.

I put out the chicken behind the house ..... I think they ate most of it before I went back there to look, by then a bigger cat had chased them away.

Therefore shall her plagues come in one day: death, mourning and famine; and she shall be utterly burned... And the kings of the earth shall bewail her, standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgement come.

The social programs are one of the primary causes of the issues in these states.  So what else are they supposed to do?

Oh no, Anarchist, she's a very healthy looking little kitty and neither of them bite.  So sweet, white with black splotches ...... I wish I could afford to keep them, but I can't even afford to keep myself.
