I agree with the studies I've seen and read that driving high on pot is MUCH, MUCH less dangerous than driving after drinking alcohol.

Years ago, a friend of mine was driving while stoned on an interstate.  He was enjoying the view and the tunes and happened to casually glance at the dash and saw he was only going 35 mph.  Cheesy  Driving while stoned is far less dangerous than just about any other distraction.  I've never understood what all the fuss was about.

However I also knew someone who got fired while stoned on some wicked brownies.  Gotta watch the brownies. Wink

Yeah I will pass that along to friend who had his foot run over by 80 tons on a trailer  , by a stoned operator.  what do people  not get about machinery and any sort of impairment being bad ?   whatever when modern healthcare isn't around things are going to be a whole lot more dangerous and the gene pool cleansing will commence  Grin

I tobacco smoke for 47 years.  I smoked grass for over 30 years now.  I quit smoking tobacco twice.  The second time was a year and a half before I was diagnosed with lung cancer.  I have been in remission for 6 years now.  My grass smoking is not chronic, once a week.  My cigarette smoking was daily.  Treatment was horrid.  Here you can learn about my experience.

I also believe that going beyond the norm is an important part of being human.  Good luck.

Frankly I wouldn't touch LSD again if you paid me. Mostly because there is no guarantee you are getting the real deal, too much garbage. Not to mention the time invested....my memories of it are a bit nasty/chemical for my tastes.

Yes, that is the major reason why I haven't gone LOOKING for acid in the last few decades. Always tended to rely on references from friends that something is clean. Even way back when we would sometimes get stuff that had some strychnine in it (Yuck!).

Yeah, organics have some nice qualities. Tried to grow some shrooms 10 years ago and it didn't look right so I chucked it. Wild is cool. I visited a friend in PEI on Canadas East Coast some 15 years ago and they were ALL over, and he knew which ones were safe.

Maybe I should just look for more natural ways to achieve "enlightenment" or whatever. Like meditation, or that stuff some earlier poster posted that I haven't looked at yet.

Had some cool dreams last night. I've done directed dreaming in the past;  perhaps I should try that again.

I'm starting to think I can live without drugs/pot now. It's been 14 1/2 days now... Smiley

Yeah, driving too slow is a major indicator for the cops. One more reason to use cruise control... Smiley

The cops around here have been getting training in testing for drugs like pot recently. The drinkers have long been getting caught with roadside tests, but tokers have been getting away with too much for them I guess...

I'm sorry about your friend, Ches.  I didn't mean to suggest THC impairment is inconsequential, just agreeing with the observation that alcohol is probably responsible for more carnage.  You raise a very good point (or two...)!

Yes, same here. Hope his foot has recovered.

That said, I would hold myself or anyone else to higher standards when operating a plane, bus, 80 ton tractor trailer etc.

And everything in the real world is fuzzy. How many days, hours, seconds exactly does one have to recover after drinking X ounces of alcohol etc ? How many hours and minutes of sleep etc ? We make our choices we feel we can live with and hope WE are not wronged by someone else who mis-calculates or just does something stupid.
