Give your puppy an empty peanut butter container, and watch him roll it around, trying to hold it still
to lick the inside. Freakin' hilarious. Cheesy

Dodge ball,
Slingshot (accuracy and distance),
Hide and seek,
Capture the flag,
Cowboys and Indians,
Monty Python quotation contests,
Hot lava,
King of the Mountain,
and the all time favorite: Try Not to Smile, where the person in the center must try not to smile while everybody else has to try to get them to smile.

Let's see, there's charades, Scrabble, Clue, card games, chess, checkers, go and Pictionary.   Arm wrestling, hot hands, paper-rock-scissors, and last but not least, Twister.

Then for us old married people, there's always kiss your spouse....

There are many games to be played.  Google parlour games for many suggestions of indoor games.

I suspect that sports will continue to be popular as outdoor activities.

The main question is will we actually have much leisure time to devote to recreation and games post peak?

In LATOC, the cat'll have to settle for crawdad down in Georgia. Maybe crab, if you're near the coast.

Oh my god, I laughed out loud. Twisted but hilarious.

Knitting is such such a trend right now, but I think it is still going to be popular. And any needle-crafts like quilting and cross stitch can make the time pass on during those cold winter months.

Heck, you can "whittle" yourself some knitting needles while you're at it!

I know ponzu was bumming the other day- maybe I will make him a "I survived the oil crash and all I got was this counted cross stitch"  to hang ont he wall! Polish up my sross stitching skills...

 Cheesy

The way I look at it, needlework will become a chore, not recreation.  Heck, I find it a chore now! Smiley

Well, I guess I'm more the crafty type. but I think there is a difference between "repairing", darning, etc.... and creating a beautiful blanket, piece or artwork. I have seen some amazing "crazy quilts" put together from the early part of last century- there is something gratifying about seing your work come to life.

Believe me I hate repairs, hemming etc... I'll have to teach my man some of that handywork.

What about drawing, sketching, painting (like with watercolors), sculpting, pottery making (a potter I know uses a kick wheel -- it's all human powered)?
