Would like to post about taking on a sharecropper/slave in exchange for free rent in a small cabin with utilities included. 

I have ethical questions about this - and wonder which discussion category to post this in.

Guidance would be appreciated from mods.

your problem lies in the offensive terms you're using.
If you are wanting someone to help you on your doomstead and are offering room and board, then classifieds is where it should go.
