Sorry about quoting you in purple GRAVEDAY, I don't know how to do it the right way.....

If you hit the QUOTE button in the upper right side of anyone else's post, the text in that window will show up as a quote in your message.

No problem.  I am still learning the various tricks.  I still can't figure out how to do multiple quotes and respond in shingle style, the way many do.
Actually, purple suits me.  Plus, the regular quote color is de facto purple anyway.  I really don't understand the need for a color to indicate sarcasm.  If you need color you are not sarcastic or loquacious enough to bother anyway.

So now it's my turn.  Tuesday I got what's called a Corrective Action Plan from my employer.  It basically states "You have 60 days to fix your shit, pull these numbers, or we will fire you right after Christmas."  I was surprised, but not very, just scared, really really scared.  I have what basically amounts to a sales job, and I haven't been pulling the numbers that are expected.  I hate my job more that any work I've ever had, which doesn't help.  Problem is, I have a large family, am the sole breadwinner, and this job barely pays the bills.  I have been looking for alternate work since May, mainly through usajobs.gov, and haven't even made it to the first interview yet.  So now I have to somehow buckle down and pull this out of my ass:  Fighting for my life to keep a job I couldn't detest more.....I haven't even spoken to my wife about it yet...I don't think she could bear it right now, as the whole previous month has been an unending series of fuck ups, kids breaking shit, hidden expenses, etc.  I....feel....so.....screeeeeewwwwwwed.

Whoof, Weedeater, that's rough.   Undecided  Best of luck to you.  Hoping that if the job does go "south," though, it'll be a positive step on the road to your true north.

Dont worry WEEDEATER. !!!

It isn't your fault that your sales are down, bosses never get it that when people don't want to buy things they just don't, they always think it is the sales persons fault.  I had one sales job in my whole life, NEVER again !!!!

You will be fine...
We are all here rooting for ya.

Good luck Weed, that is a tough one. It lets you know how fucked up our system is that we have to do shit like that just to have a place and some chow. I wish you the best man, I hope you find a way. -James

Thank you for all the kindness shared, I need it!  I have made a little progress, but the more deeply I think about these "goals" on my Corrective Action Plan, the more they just feel like coffin nails, stamped with mocking laughter.  Anyhow, I doubt I will have much time to think about LATOC or peruse the forum, since I'm right smack dab in the middle of it!  I did get a little boost today; a Scoutmaster friend gifted me with 50 pounds of doe; he nailed two with his blackpowder rifle in about 4 total hours of hunting.  It's already in the freezer.  Anyhow, thanks again fellow Doomers!

How do you expect sympathy sitting there with fifty pounds of venison.  Where do you live again?

Hmmmm.....I suppose I was looking for a bit of sympathy, or a practical foolproof solution!  50# of whitetail doesn't last long between two adults and five ravenous children!  I live smack-dab in the middle of Virginia.

Purple for sarcasm started as a rather funny joke by rbrgs. Feel free to assume that people will recognize sarcasm (even though some of them won't).
