This seems so petty, but I'm kind of pissed about it (no pun intended  Wink).  I've bought the same brand of toilet paper for years, and started buying it in the huge packages at Sam's Club last year.  I bought a new package a few weeks ago and just noticed this weekend that the width of the rolls in this new package is about 1/2-3/4" shorter than the old ones (I compared them, but didn't have a ruler on hand to be exact LOL).  Fuckers.  I'm a DOOMER.  I will NOT tolerate a shortage of toilet paper.  Angry  Cheesy

Brought home a box of wheat thins last night and my daughter literally shouted "look at how tiny this is!" as she rotated the box to get the full effect.  Another perk to having preps is the ability to compare.  I think we all know whats going on tho, don't we.

I find the downsizing really annoying for recipes.  Over time they have reduced the size of packages and canned good enough that it is starting to affect how my older recipes turn out, or it reduces the number of servings.  As much as I don't like rising prices, I'd rather they increase the price and keep the size the same.  More honest!

I just posted the same thing on another thread! Yes, I hate it. You have to shift all the ingredients so the proportions match. Now I have to either make 1.5 pumpkin pies or 3. Well, I have two sizes of pie plates, so I usually do one of each, but still. grr.

Oh stop talking about pumpkin pie, it's my favorite (along with all the other custard-type pies such as rhubarb custard and plum custard).

The fall season is when I get hungry practically all the time, and you've just made me gush.

I was in fifth grade when a woman who lived in the same apartments taught me how to make pumpkin pie.  It wasn't until after college, knocking around in Alaska, that I learned you didn't need a can.  The real deal was a little stringy, but oh so good.
Loving stuff has always been the motive to learn how to make it.  Like tapioca pudding.  And wine.

In the future you may not have any toilet paper, so enjoy it while you can.

In the PNW...there are a lot of pine cones up here--gotta plan ahead.

Local Walmart, no large bottles of hand sanitizer. Only small bottles at $1.98, the large bottles were approx. $6. Sold out and they don't know re-stocking date.

My wife made two hubbard squash pies yesterday.  Absolutely fantastic.  You don't need to use pumpkins.  BTW, she also turned all the zucchini into zucchinni bread which is in our freezer right now.  Yummo.

We should have our first real crop of cherries next years.  The trees are big enough and we had some cherries this year.  Can't wait.

Last week I needed baling wire. I bought the last two boxes the Tractor supply store in Gonzales had and then called or went by every other outlet that usually stocks the wire. None had any. I called Seguin and couldn't find any there. So I drove to Shiner and bought a few boxes, only to discover that they too didn't plan to order any more.

So I called my regular supplier in Seguin and asked if he'd order more on my behalf. He said he would if I'd commit to at least 20 of the 32 boxes a pallet contains. When he ordered the wire, he discovered his supplier no longer had any in stock.

Supposedly, he was able to order directly from the manufacturer, but none has arrived to date.

It's as though everyone is afraid of stocking items for fear they won't sell.

Guess that supports the deflation theory. The only thing more scarce than baling wire in these parts is money to buy the stuff.

Local Walmart, no Nutrigrain Whole Wheat Waffles for over a week. They don't know when they will be available. Most Nutrigrain product shelves are empty.
