Thanks for the tips folks...I'll definitely try a neti pot (it has been on my list for a while) and the mugwort sounds interesting.   I've had a constant low grade sinus infection since my teens dues to abnormalities in my sinuses...and as much as I hate modern medicine, Sudaphed has been a life saver at times.
Don't know if it would help you, but every time I get a sinus infection, I whip up a batch of tzaziki (yogurt with cucumbers and as much garlic as I can stand).  I also cut up garlic into small pieces and swallow them like pills.  This usually knocks out my infection within a day or so.  You stink a bit for a few days, but it's better than doctor visits I can't afford.

Neti pot use was discussed ad noseum on the swine flu thread I think.

Yeah...Graveday, but most folks look at the fact it is 800+ pages long and nearly faint--they AREN'T going there. People almost have to become devotees of that thread to stick it out. I been on it now for 10 months.

Abhaha, been reading from the start too. I would have given up keeping up otherwise.

Today, I noticed a shortage of juice in my juice.  It is super-watery.  It is a brand we've bought plenty of before (sun rype 1L tetra packs), but will probably not be buying again.  DH noted that, since water is the first ingredient listed, they do not even have to change the labeling to rip you off.

That is astute, and funny.  We are mostly water too.  Maybe God has something up his sleeve.

My favorite honey comes from Tasmania, Australia.  It is Leatherwood Honey with a very distinctive flavor.  I used to buy it for $6 for a 17 1/2 ounce jar at Zabars in NYC 4 years ago.  It is now $14 a jar for the same amount.  I talked to the manager at Zabars about the price range and his answer was that it is hard to come by and the dollar is weaker, etc.

We generally use local honey from a producer who is about a mile from our house, but even he is experiences shortages due to colony collapse syndrome.

Actually, I've been making a tea with garlic, ginger, lemon juice, and a generous dollop of honey that seems to be helping slowly and incrementally.  Tastes fantastic too, just the right combination of flavors.

And speaking of honey...yes, it has gotten really pricey...because of that tea I've been going through a ton of it and it does seem to have doubled in price over the past few years.

This year I celebrate 30 years of recording music and being an "activist" by giving up on both!  All of my available albums are now free downloads on the John Ludi website (as I'm damned if I'll spend the time and money to make any more of them):

Got a nice fat tax return from Uncle Sam and decided to take out a chunk to hide away...so went to my local Wells Fargo and asked to take out $5000 and they said they could only give it to me in $20's, that they had no 50 or 100's. They directed me to another branch so I went there instead (I didnt want 250 - 20's). The teller there told me that I was supposed to call to the branch manager for such a large withdrawl before hand and give them 3 days to come up with the cash...by then I was pretty wiggin out...left frustrated but determined and went to yet another branch bank in the next city over and the teller gave me $1000 in 100's and $1000 in 20's and explained that they never got their shipment and hoped for more 50's and 100's on Monday. Just a little unnerved with the whole experience.

Justly so.  I have never asked for more than a thousand in twenties, but methinks I might at least ask now and see what they say.

If it is hard to come with dollars, maybe a little hoarding is in order.

Domscott, thanks for cross posting this in the Seahorse Tinfoil thread re: US bank holiday!  http://www.doomers.us/forum2/index.php/topic,56356.90.html

It seemed appropriate to both discussions and shoot...I was pretty wigged out at the end of the day...Im a little better cause my local coin shop was able to supply up some kugerands maple leafs at $40 over spot...which was pretty damn cool. I had been using NWT mint...not a bad place...but if you get them from the online store they get a little pricy...and over $1500 purchases have no sales tax...score! I love immediate gratification...now if I can only get my bank to understand this!

That made up for the adrenaline pump, right?

Well, LATOCers are hyper sensitive to the events that others would not question, I'm thankful for the heads-up we get from posters here, thank you all!  Smiley
