Still no .22 shells.
Wal Mart actually had some yesterday (I never go there, made an exception) but they wanted $9. for 50.....
Needless to say I wont pay that.
A couple of months ago I could buy 550 for $14. what the hell happened?Huh?
I did buy some magnums for my revolver. They were $10. for 50, the best you can get though.
Anyone else still having problems with getting ammo?Huh

Except that in a year, you might be wishing you'd spent $9 for those 50 x .22 shells Tongue

No need to buy ammo at Walmart, plenty of it online.  I'd recommend 2-3 bricks of Winchester white box for practice (actually it seemed to be quite accurate last time I tried them a few years ago.)  Then some subsonic rounds to shoot the neighbor's dog when he's been keeping you up with his barking for the last three nights.  Add onto it a little box of something higher powered.

A little box of something higher powered.  Sounds like snuff.

No, snuff never worked well in my gun, but YMMV.

Had two instances of shortage in 1 day over the weekend...
1) Went to our neighborhood Marathon station to fill the car up with gas, only to discover they were out of both regular and plus grades, and only had premium left.
2) Went to the Meijer store (don't like shopping there much, but they have the lowest price on the soymilk my son drinks instead of dairy--like $2 lower per half gallon compared to the co-op where I buy most of my stuff) and even though it was a weekend day, they only had two checkout lanes (out of 20-something) staffed.  Does shortage of employees count as a shortage?  Wink

Scared the hell out of me, because I'd been buried neck-deep in a school project for the last couple weeks and haven't been checking news or spending much time online at all, and I thought I had missed some catastrophic event... Undecided

This is not a shortage, but is related, I'd say.  I went to Kohls tonight.  The were well stocked.  They had a "lowest prices of the season sale" plus they had a 15% off total purchase coupon and at the same time, they had a $10 coupon if you spent $50.  On top of that they had some Playtex women's undergarments that had an additional $3 off.  $13 each - $3 =$10 less 15%=$8.50.  List price, they are around $30, I think.  This seems kind of desperate so far away from the Holiday season.  With the coupons you have to go back in a week or two to use them.  So, to spend my $10, I need to go back.  I hope their winter gloves are on a good sale.

It seems to me that they are desperate to do well over this holiday season.  Many retail stores are not expected to survive the holidays.  In the past if they had a sale this good, the store would be jam packed.  So, while there is a surfeit of goods, there is a shortage of customers.  It is a shortage after all.

What do they sell at Kohl's, Katie, besides underwear?  I went in one once to look quick at jewelry, but I didn't really look around to see what they mainly do.

Not Katie, but I'll answer:  they sell clothing, shoes, jewelry, housewares, linens, home decorating items, maybe some toys.

What I get:  Foodsaver vacuum sealer and supplies (cheapest I can find when on a sale plus multiple coupons).  Women's jeans in tall sizes (very rare at any other store in town).  Very warm Columbia winter gloves on closeout very cheap.

I don't go there often, but I keep a list of things I can't find elsewhere.  When they have multiple sales/coupons I then get what I need.
