There was a discarded Hard Rock bicycle that I got a hold of the other day. My first step was to strip it for parts that I would use on my crankforward bikes in the case something broke. When I took of all the shifting parts I decided that I could make the bike into a singlespeed for around town riding without theft worry. Riding the bike is awkward coming from recumbent and crankforward bikes. The bike fit me fine, but I couldn't help but feel like I was in my own little world. Staring at the tire the whole time, isn't my idea of fun. I could really do without the prostate pressure aswell. Standing up while riding is way overrated. I'ld rate the entire experience as dull, in fact it made me queasy. The bike has now been reabandoned. If I can't ride my Crankforward bikes in the future I guess I'll be awalking. On a positive note, I did get a set of nice suntour thumbshifters, they are so smooth, much better then their shimano cohorts.

Gee, too bad we don't live close- I would have taken that old bike off your hands, fixed it up and found a good home for it.

Me, I've always wanted to stumble across and old Giant brand Iguana model bicycle. I'd paint it green and ride it to work. Why? So when people asked me what I rode, I could puff up my chest, look 'em right in the eye and say it with pride:

"I RIDE A GIANT GREEN IGUANA!"
