I thought it might be a good idea to consolidate information on Monsanto in one thread for everyone to be able to look at.
They are into so many things, and have bought up many smaller seed companies over the years. The companies often retain their original names so it would be hard to tell who is owned by Monsanto.
If you know of any companies like than, list them here so we can better decide where to spend our money.
Also, articles or sites with news or other information about Monsanto, we can list here as well. Sort of one stop shopping.  Grin

This one has some interesting information.

http://www.fdrs.org/monsanto_seed_company.html

MONSANTO SEED COMPANY: FOOD AS A WEAPON

The U.S. Government (controlled by the elite) has been working on food as a weapon since at least 1983. The idea is to be sure that no food can be grown without seeds being bought from, or licenses being paid to such corporations as Monsanto, Bayer Crop Sciences, Syngenta or DuPont's Pioneer Hi-Bred International.

What do you think life will be like when private companies have the ability to determine and control which country or individual farmer gets access to the only seeds that will grow? Imagine the control and power that goes to whoever controls those companies.

The Monsanto seed company has been working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and a company with a shady background, Delta & Pine Land, to patent and perfect what's called the "Terminator Seed".

The "Terminator" technology is one where seed will only grow once. Gone will be the days when farmers could re-plant seed the next season. The elite plan is hold the people of the world hostage to them through the continuing need to buy new seed each year.

Refuse to pay their price and just starve, they seem to think. And what happens if your political or religious views oppose theirs? Can you begin to see the very dangerous territory we're being forced to enter here?

For a more in-depth looks at the "Terminator Seed" and Delta & Pine Land, see Monsanto Buys 'Terminator' Seeds Company.

This one has good information with lots of links.

Monsanto and their ilk absolutely disgust me.  If there is a future from which history will look back onto this time period, I hope they are seen for the despicable wretches that they are.

...and that's all I got to say about that.

Oh, one more thing:  BASTARDS!

...now I'm done.

Impractical. But we could all support the existing independents. Here is a great company I have been dealing with for a couple of years now.

Is there anyone that knows where to find a list of companies that are owned by Monsanto?
that would be good to have in here.
I've been looking, not had much luck so far but will keep at it.
Thanks for the link too Dr. Doom.
hopefully we can all find local places to buy from, and like spacecase0 said, we should try and save seed as much as we can too.

i called sooo many seed companies and flat out asked if they sold Monsanto/Seminis and they admit it if you catch 'em quick. Even Seed Savers Exchange does which I thought would be totally against their whole concept but no sadly. FedCo seeds straight up tells you which seeds are and aren't Monsanto/big guns related so I like them. I hear Peace seeds are good and Johhny's but again, ask before you buy.

If you get a chance to see the documentary "The Future of Food" you will learn a lot about Monsanto that you didn't want to know.  You will also learn how innocent people are  destroyed by them.

Space, that is an interview with the person who made the movie, Deborah Garcia, wife of the late Jerry Garcia, of the Grateful Dead.  One of the principals of a local organic farm was in the movie as a commentator.  Her name is Judith Redmond, of Full Belly Farm.  Thanks for the link to the interview.
