i just moved all the indy mac, freddie and fannie, and wachovia threads to the financial doom section.  THAT is where bank failures and stuff like that belongs.  i should just merge all of them together but since there are so many of them it would be confusing as hell to figure out who was commenting on what thread.

Just out of curiosity, if something is truly breaking news, such as Wells Fargo goes belly-up and depositers are ransacking their main office, does that go in Breaking News or Financial?

However, I do agree that there were way too many duplicate threads so I understand your need to clean house a bit.  Just want a little clarification  Smiley

I think the whole forum format blows.  If it was under UBB.threads™  then you could just browse the active posts to see what was going on.  That way everyone could involve themselfs with the current posts without going throught each subcatergory.

Sucks to have to goto each category to see whats new, who has time for that?

Yeah but if someone adds something new to the posts it doesn't list them.  A show "active posts" button would work much better.

I get sick of every fart and sniffle in breaking news. Folks need
to practice just a little self restraint.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

THIS JUST IN:  Sgt. Prairie Dog performed the trifecta of uncontrollable bodily functions this morning; Sneezing, farting and belching, all in the same instant.  Reports confirmed that he blew an o-ring and had to be rushed by emergency services to have himself turned right side in again... Stay tuned for more as this story develops.

Sgt Prairie Dog is just so cute. I wanna hug him and stroke him and pet him.

If he happens to get really still and achieve room temperature, I could use a good steering wheel cover.

Yeah,Yeah I can here it now, STAY ON TOPIC!

O.K. This just in...Tradesmen International laid off 266 Reps, Managers and Janitors .

Understood.

However, some of the postings are limited with respect searching.  Titles can be misleading and content merely reference a link.  There are trade offs between total anarchy and rigid control.  In spite of leading to some confusion, my preference is to be weighted toward anarchy.

I have to admit as a new member, the front/home page of the LATOC website has really dropped off in quality and coverage. Mediocre news stories, redundant to what is on the chat forums, late postings or never at all.

Reading the home page was what intrigued me to become a member (yes, I know it is free) but lately I really do not even know why they bother posting breaking news stories any more.

IMHO, it went from a 10 to a 2!
