OK I tried going on there .... used "independent server" or whatever the term is since I could not find it on say Undernet or anything ....

Went in there, no one there, other than something named CHANMOD lol think it's a bot that holds the channel.

So, I have an IRC program, and can go to IRC channels, but this one may be one of those that it's hard to get to, but at least it's empty lol.

Are there best times of the day to try this again?

There are regulars that hang out in there in the chat room. You can't just go in once then discount it as dead. I'm pretty sure House of Tang lives in there. I have seen several members from the board on numerous occasion.

Gnomore and I are there pretty regularly, even if we're away from the computer (Gno more than I, but that may change when I get to San Francisco).  Sometimes folks won't answer because we're paying attention to something else for a couple minutes.  It's kind of silly to log in, say "hi" and leave if you don't see a response within a minute (like someone does).  If you really do want to talk to folks, sign on, say hi, and go to another window for a while.  I'm almost always at least double-tasking while I'm there.
