If Sasquatch found it first go ahead and credit him..  I dont care, I just ran into it one day and thought it appropriate enough to post and musta missed it earlier...

 Wink

I'm not really looking for credit - I was just surprised when I originally posted it that it didn't get more feedback. But I think I recall that probably had more to do with the thread itself - as I posted mid-thread, and afterwards it kind of went in a different direction then I expected.

What's ultimately important is that it gets noticed - just because I do think it's an illuminating list from which we can draw some important conclusions. My humble opinion.

Or maybe the same list Sasquatch post all the way back in October....
Yeah, I thought that someone had posted that info before, couldn't remember who or be bothered to back-link to it.  Sorry for not sticking up for you, Sasquatch.

I second (or third or fourth) the suggestion that humping for turnips should go here.

Awesome.  I saw the doc on IFC (?), signed up the next day or so.  This is a great resource.

And I made my 50th post, although my post per day average blows.  At least I got another stripe.

Thanks Matt.

I too was going to recommend the 'buying bullets you don't need' thread even before I realised it was the same one in which Sasquatch originally posted the '100 high-demand items from Sarajevo' list.  Besides just discussion of the list itself, this thread had a lot of (apparently) informed discussion about actual post-collapse environments from people who sounded like they'd been there.  And some interesting diversions about the ways in which people self-organize in a power vacuum, and what works and what doesn't.  And a lot of interesting tactical/defensive discussion from former military types.

So I'd vote for this thread even independent of Sasquatch's Sarajevo list.  It's one of the few threads [I've considered printing to mail hardcopies to some friends.

I'll second that.  It's a good thread, and I'd love to see the newer quality folks comment on it.

Matt,

I'd like to nominate Permaculture Base Camps in Community Preparation for inclusion in Best of....

Through the search page from the main section.  Up on the left, click on "LATOC Discussion Categories" and then type in Huming for Turnips and type search.

I've found that the search function will search whatever sub-forum you're on, unless you're not on a sub-forum, in which case it'll search the whole thing.
